For public relations professional Denise Kovalevich, her career has been all about change. Change in technology, change in clients, change in audience, change in media, even change in how she approaches the press. But one thing that has never changed for her is this – her commitment to her clients and her passion for the field of public relations.

Known for her excellent writing and media relations skills, Kovalevich has had the pleasure of working with some of the top industry leaders, the most famous names in Hollywood and the best talent in music.

Starting her career in the agency world, Kovalevich managed accounts that ranged from real estate and project management giants including the Pier at Caesar’s in Atlantic City and Hill International, who were responsible for Palm Island in Dubai, as well as celebrated Philadelphia, PA restaurants Susanna Foo, Cuba Libre and Positano Coast. During this time, she not only earned her Master’s degree in public relations from Rowan University, but she also worked tirelessly to secure high profile media placements including: The Wall Street Journal, Time, Forbes, Food + Wine, and more.

She later entered the music world, working as the VP of Tour Press for a PR agency where she oversaw such iconic artists as Steve Vai, Judas Priest, Eric Johnson, Iron Maiden, Helmet, King’s X, and others. There she routinely obtained feature stories and reviews in Billboard, Rolling Stone, Guitar World, Guitar Player, VH1, and many more for her artists.

After a decade of working in the agency world, Kovalevich joined retail giant QVC as the PR Manager, where she oversaw the all of the musical artists that appeared on the network, including Justin Bieber, Sheryl Crow, Hall and Oates, James Taylor, Willie Nelson and more, as well as such brands as celebrities as Heidi Klum, Joan Rivers, Isaac Mizrahi, and C Wonder. There, she secured placements in such outlets as Redbook, O! The Oprah Magazine, Family Circle, People Stylewatch, InStyle, and Entertainment Tonight/The Insider.

In the spring of 2014, Kovalevich left her position at QVC to fulfill her life-long dream of owning her own PR firm and in May 2014 dmk Publicity was born. Today, Kovalevich is enjoying the life of an entrepreneur and carving out a niche among the music, entertainment, fitness, sports and restaurants industries. She has already garnered an extensive list of clients that she considers family, including: dUg Pinnick (King’s X), Corey Glover (Living Colour), Pavement Entertainment (Flaw, Silvertung, Candlebox), The Conshy Girls Restaurant Group (Gypsy Blu, Gypsy Saloon, Stella Blu, Southern Cross), MaxOut Strength Studios, Rotation Records, and many more.

As for the next change in her life? That’s anyone’s guess. But for those who know Kovalevich, can rest assured it will be EXACTLY where she wants to be.
